Who we are

Impact 922 Ministries is a faith-based ministry founded in 2002 as the Urban Training Network (UTN), to train youth leaders working in an urban setting. As the ministry grew beyond the scope of being a training organization, UTN remained the parent organization, and Impact 922 Ministries became the speaking and consulting arm of the ministry.

Mission

To train and equip ministry leaders and students in a strategy for reaching young people with the gospel, discipling them in their faith, and empowering them as transformational leaders.

Vision

To assist ministry leaders in the task of helping young people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and to fulfill their God-given purpose.

Strategy

We accomplish the mission through a variety of programs and initiatives.

Tommy CarringtonLeadership

Dr. Tommy Carrington serves as the founder and President of Impact 922 Ministries, a division of the Urban Training Network. Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Tommy moved to the United States where he attended Miami Christian College (now Trinity International University/South Florida). After graduating, he accepted a position with Miami Youth for Christ as a chaplain of the Juvenile Detention Center, and later served as an Area Director in Miami for 12 years.

During that time, Tommy saw a great need to assist youth leaders with a model for youth ministry. In 2012, he launched the Urban Training Network (now “Impact 922 Ministries”), a ministry designed to equip youth leaders with a strategy for evangelism, discipleship, and the empowerment of young people.

Tommy earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology and Biblical Studies from Trinity International University, and received the Doctor of Ministry, specializing in “Ministry in Complex Urban Settings,” from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is currently a candidate for the Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Tommy’s passion is to provide leadership training for student ministry pastors, youth leaders and students, with the goal of raising a generation of transformational leaders.

Tommy currently serves as the Founder/President of Impact 922 Ministries, and as the Director of the Multiply Youth Leaders Initiative (MYLI) program in partnership with Miami Youth for Christ. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Trinity International University. He travels extensively, speaking at evangelistic rallies, high school outreaches, churches, camps, retreats and seminars for youth and adult leaders.
